The Quick Play version of Royal Troon, which is located in Ayrshire, Scotland and has been the host of 8 British Opens. The club was founded in 1878 and hosted its first Open in 1923.
Past Open winners include Arnold Palmer, Tom Weiskopf, Tom Watson, Mark Calcavecchia, and Justin Leonard. The course is a very tough links layout, with plenty of gorse and fescue to make a mess out of a round.
When the wind is up, the back 9 is considered to be the most demanding of any of the Open courses.
It is home to both the longest and shortest holes in Open Championship Golf. The legendary “Postage Stamp” is a only 123 yards with a green described by Willie Park as a “pitching surface skimmed down to the size of a postage stamp.”
