Its not call Hogan’s Alley for nothing), Sam Snead, CAry Middlecoff, Doug Sanders, Arnold Palmer, Julie Boros, Billy Casper, Gene Littler, Tom Weiskopf, Lee Trevino, Ben Crenshaw, Jack Nicklaus, Corey Pavin, Tom Watson, Phil Mickelson, Sergio Garcia, Nick Price, Kenny Perry, and Steve Stricker to name a few.
Its a classic layout with a natural par 70 that plays to 7204 yards. It was so long when it was first designed that it hasn’t really had to go through the artificial lengthening that is all too common nowadays. Holes 3,4,5 are nicknamed the “Horrible Horseshoe” and the par 4 #5 at 481 yards is considered one of the toughest holes in America.
