Summary:

Phil Rodgers shot a -1 71 and Pate a +2 74.  Rodgers never had the lead until the 16th hole. Pate birdied the 17th to tie the match, only to collape with a triple bogey on the 18th to let Rodgers win with a bogey. Rodgers will go on to the tournament semi-finals to face either Julius Boros or Harold Henning from the White Bracket.

Summary:

Morgan missed several birdie and par putts under ten feet on the back side that doomed him to an early departure. He bogeyed the 10th and 11th to go two down.  The Lietzke, smelling blood, got hot and birdied the next tree to end the match,  Lietzke was at -1 when he closed out the match and Morgan was at +4 when he lost.  He will face either Raymond Floyd or Tom Weiskopf in the semi-final round of the tournament.

Summary:  Weiskopf built was looked like an insurmountable lead on the front side, then watched it slip away as  Floyd charged back to send the match to all square heading into the last three holes. Weiskopf gathered himself and won the 16th and 17th holes to win 2 & 1.  Neither golfer played well.  Weiskopf was at +3 when the match ended on the 17th green and Ray Floyd was at +5 in his loss.  Tom Weiskopf will battle Bruce Lietzke in the semi-finals.

Summary:

After Boros took the lead on the 4th hole, he never lost it to Henning. The South African managed to cut the 3 up lead to only 1 hole on the 14th hole. But Boros bore down and birdied the 15th and 16th to close out the match. He holed out a five yard pitch from a bad lie in the rough to the winner. He grabs the last seat in the semi-final round.  He will face Phil Rodgers.  Both golfers played well. Boros was minus one when he closed the match on the 16th hole and Henning was only plus one,
