Summary: In a match where neither golfer played well, it was a matter of who made the least errors in the least critical point in the match.  True to Weiskopf form, he went double bogey-bogey on the 15th and 16th holes to fall two back. He rallied with a beautiful pitching wedge into the 17th for birdie to be one down with one to play, but then sliced his drive off a tree and wound up only a little over 200 from the tee box. Then he hit a fat six iron and scrambled to make par.  Rodgers’ lovely pitch from the rough to a foot from the hole ended the match. Weiskopf lost by a hole, shooting 76, while Rodgers shot 77 for the victory.
