First Two Tournaments

First two Tournaments are in the book;

The season opener was the Hawaiian Open.  Ben Hogan was the winner securing the first place in the season ending World Championship event.  Hogan began the day 1 behind 3rd round leader Bobby Cruickshank but pulled level at the second.  Cruickshank then trailed until the 16th where he birdied to Hogan’s par 4.  The two then matched shots on 17 and 18.  The play-off was decided on the 1st extra hole (the 17th) when Cruickshank bogied and Hogan made par.

The second event was the Paradise Open at Kapalua and was a tale of two Scots and an Australian.  Jock Hutchison, Peter Thomson and Old Tom Morris held or shared the lead over the first three days.  On the final day, Hutchison folded, falling out of the lead after a double-bogey at the fourth.  Peter Thomson led from the fifth until the 12th when Morris went on a great run and played the last 7 holes in 6 under par to win by 5.

A very exciting start to my Legends Tour.

More soon.
